Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman Gets A Title As Shooting Officially Starts In Detroit

Filming is officially underway on Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel Batman v Superman, which has finally got a full title today.

Warner Bros announced today that the movie, due for release in 2016, will be officially titled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Fans are speculating that the subtitle, "Dawn of Justice," is a nod at the Justice League movie that Warner Bros. and DC Comics already have planned for 2018.

Alongside the long-awaited for title, the studio also unveiled the official logo which is a finished version of the image that Snyder unveiled at last year's Comic-Con. The House of El symbol from Man of Steel is carved into a bat symbol, which we've already seen on Ben Affleck's new batsuit.

Ben takes over the role of Batman, following Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale's hugely successful Dark Knight trilogy, Snyder is hoping to build on the massive box office success of last summer's standalone Superman movie, Man of Steel, by bringing back Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Superman.

The all-star movie also features Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel while The Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg will play Lex Luthor.

Jeremy Irons has also joined as Alfred while Holly Hunter is in a role newly created for the film.

Principal photography will take place on location at Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location in and around Detroit, Michigan; Illinois; Africa; and the South Pacific.
