Well, this reality star didn't get vetted too well: Tim Zickuhr, who used to costar as a one of the drivers on the History Channel's Ice Road Truckers, has been charged with first-degree kidnapping, extortion and coercion after police say he kidnapped a prostitute from Las Vegas, reports TMZ. The woman (aka Snow White) told police her client threatened to kill her if she didn't repay $1,000 that he believed she stole from him. Zickuhr will have his day in court next month. No comment from History Channel folks.
Food venture
He plays a bumbling dad on ABC's Modern Family, but in Salt Lake City Ty Burrell is trying out for a role as restaurateur. Burrell has just opened Beer Bar, an eatery that serves 150 beers paired up with house-made bratwursts, local breads and Belgian fries. The restaurant is next door to the cocktail bar Burrell co-owns with an equally simple name, Bar X.
Plot foiled
A collection of Jay Z's master recordings are safe and sound. The rapper's ex sound engineer, Chauncey Mahan, was questioned by police in connection with an alleged extortion plot. According to law enforcement officials, Mahan allegedly contacted someone in Z's camp saying he would give back the tapes (which were assumed lost) for a $100,000 "storage fee," or put them up for auction. Cops got the tapes back but Mahan was not arrested; the investigation is ongoing.
Parting ways
Don't be on the lookout for Uma Thurman becoming another Salma Hayek (so rich) any time soon. The actress, 43, ended her engagement to multimillionaire financier Arpad Busson, with whom she has a daughter who turns 2 in July. Arki, as he is known in some circles, has two sons with his other famous ex — part time Miamian Elle Macpherson, aka Mrs. Jeffrey Soffer. Keeping score yet? Sigh.
Stop dancing
Fun's over: Comedian/game show host Drew Carey and partner Cheryl Burke were the fifth couple eliminated from Dancing With the Stars. Carey said he advanced further than he thought he would. "Thanks for letting me borrow your dance floor to fulfill this fantasy," he said upon exiting.
