Solange Knowles sparkles at CFDAs as she walks her first red carpet since Met Ball

By Daily Mail Reporter

Her last big ticket event ended in tears - not all of them hers.

But Solange Knowles appeared to be on her best behaviour as she stepped out at the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America awards in New York on Monday night.

The singer was making her first red carpet appearance since the Met Ball, when she was filmed angrily attacking her brother-in-law Jay Z in an elevator.

The attack was said to have been sparked by a row with Rachel Roy - who also attended the CFDAs.

But as Solange sparkled in her figure-hugging silver dress, there was no sign of any friction.

Instead the 27-year-old smiled happily at the cameras, as she arrived clutching the arm of designer Francisco Costa.

Her hair was worn in a pretty natural wave, with pink lipstick and restrained make-up highlighting her natural beauty.

While Solange herself has not commented on her fight with Jay Z - or what caused it - her sister Beyonce released a joint statement on her behalf to the media.

Indeed the famously private singer has done her best to show that the family have moved on from the drama, posting a picture of herself and Solange.

The trio also released a joint statement, saying: 'As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident.'

'But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it,' it reads.

'Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.'

'The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different.

'We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.'
