Geri Halliwell may have said she was glad to have lost out on the X Factor judging role last year, but she will no doubt have been a bit miffed that her pal Mel B is now joining the line up.
Geri – who was seen in London wearing a grey dress and brave smile on Wednesday – had previously appeared as a guest judge on the show back in 2012, but lost out on a permanent spot because of her 'loopy' behaviour at the Liverpool auditions.
Her Spice Girls badmate had also guest judged on the UK talent show, but clearly had impressed Simon and the producers more with her panel etiquette.
Chin up: Geri Halliwell wears a brave smile the same day Mel B is named the newest X Factor judge
Disappointing: Geri was overlooked as a judge because of her 'loopy' behaviour during a guest stint on the show
Chalk and cheese: Geri and Gary clashed several times throughout the show in 2012 and seemed to genuinely dislike each other
Speaking of her X Factor snub last year, Geri told Digital Spy:' Thank God sometimes I don't get what I want when I want it. I'd have probably f**ked it up.'
Nicole Scherzinger went onto become the fourth judge, while Mel B hooked Geri up with a spot on Australia's Got Talent however that show has not been picked up for another season because of dwindling viewing figures.
Mel B was confirmed as the fourth and final judge on this year's X Factor on Wednesday morning.

The 39-year-old former Spice Girl, real name Melanie Brown, has will join fellow panellists Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh for the new series of the ITV talent show after she penned a reported £1million deal.
The star, who was a guest judge on the programme in 2012, admitted she cannot wait to get started on the show.
She said: 'I'm so excited to be joining The X Factor - I loved being a guest judge back in 2012. I've always thought honesty is the best policy when being a judge and that's what I'm going to bring more of this year - whether it's spotting an incredible singer, giving someone a reality check or debating with Simon over who's got it wrong.
In the bag: Mel is currently a judge on America's got talent alongside Howie Mandel, Howard Stern, Heidi Klum and Nick Cannon
'Now I can't wait to get started and find some amazing talent.'
Head judge Simon is delighted to have finally landed his fourth judge and is looking forward to Mel bringing a 'feisty' edge to the panel.
He said: 'I am thrilled that Mel B has agreed to be a judge on The X Factor this year. I thought she was fantastic as a guest judge a couple of years ago. She is feisty, opinionated and, I believe, will be a great mentor.'
Good resumé: Mel B has been a guest judge on the UK X Factor is currently on the America's Got Talent judging panel
Louis added: 'It should be a fun year this year with both Simon and Cheryl returning and I think Mel will keep us all on our toes, she is Scary Spice after all.'
Mel is currently in Australia working on The Voice but is set to fly to Heathrow at 5.30am on Monday and then get a transfer to Manchester for The X Factor auditions.
According to The Sun newspaper, Mel has agreed to a £900,000 deal, with £100,000 for wardrobe expenses.
The role won't be a difficult one for the former Spice Girl, as she is currently a judge on America's Got Talent, and has also featured as a judge on The X Factor Australia and The Voice Kids Australia.
The X Factor auditions are set to kick off in Manchester on Monday, close to Mel's native Leeds, where she will complete the judging panel.
Mel also featured on the UK X Factor as a guest judge in 2012, but is said to be earning less than returning judge Cheryl's contract, which is valued at £1.5million.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper that Mel was a carefully considered choice for the much coveted role: 'Mel B was Simon's number one choice for the final place on the panel, he was really impressed when they met up and he likes her style and what she was saying she can bring to the show in their meeting.
'She is certainly not a shrinking violet and will say exactly what she thinks. She will stir things and be up for a laugh which is important.'
The dream team: The 2008 line-up is back - but who will the fourth judge be?
Mel's representative Jonathan Shalit told MailOnline: 'She is the most relevant X Factor judge ever and more qualified than any other because she has sold so many records.
'Simon has managed to secure the biggest X Factor judge ever … apart from himself.
'Mel will have no trouble juggling the jobs because she is the original supermum. She is the most amazing mother, the most amazing judge.
'She's a judge in three different continents now – Australasia, America and now Europe. Nobody has ever done t! hat before.
'She is so in demand so it took a bit of time for Simon to get her. She is going to relocate to England for three months so she will be there for the live shows – not like Kelly Rowland.'

Hard at work: The Geordie beauty spent Wednesday filming an MTV question and answer session with TV presenter Laura Whitmore
As a member of the Spice Girls, Mel and the group enjoyed nine number one singles and two number one albums in the UK, including one number single and album in the US during their four years in the charts.
However, Mel has failed to match the Spice Girls' success as a solo artist.
Her debut solo single I Want You Back - featuring Missy Elliott - reached No.1 in 1998, and she ended up with a further two top 10 UK singles in 2000 and 2001, Tell Me and Feel So Good respectively.
Her debut album Hot charted at a disappointing 28th in October 2000, while her second album LA State Of Mind failed to chart in 2005.
The cold shoulder: Simon, Cheryl and Louis were pictured together at the 2008 National Television Awards looking friendly - but Geordie singer Cheryl has reportedly said she doesn't want Louis back on the panel this year
