Aaron Taylor-Johnson was strongly linked to the coveted role of Christian Grey when it was announced that his wife Sam Taylor-Wood would be taking on the role of director for the highly-anticipated Fifty Shades Of Grey, but now he's played down the reports stating that the couple didn't want the 'wrong kind of hype'.
Sam Taylor-Wood originally cast Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of the EL James erotic trilogy, but he unexpectedly dropped out and The Fall's Jamie Dornan was cast opposite Dakota Johnson.

Now in a new interview with Nylon Guys magazine, Aaron has explained why he automatically steered clear of the part.
"I think it would have been the wrong kind of hype to bring toward us," Aaron said. "It would have been kind of funny that this character that all these women fancy - he's one in a million - and my wife picks her husband to play the part?"
Revealing that he hopes to collaborate with his wife once again, after working together on Nowhere Boy.
"I would love to have done something together again, but it wouldn't have been Fifty. We were both on the same page."
Of their sex life, Aaron insisted that the couple aren't as kinky as the books' protagonists, Christian and Ana, as he said: "We don't have a Red Room at home." But the question is, has Aaron read James' books:
"No, I did not. I'll watch the movie, though!"

The couple met in 2009 on the set of Nowhere Boy, just three years after Aaron gave up school to become a Hollywood actor.
Aaron, who became a hit in the Kick-Ass movies, admits that he went off the rails shortly after leaving for Hollywood.
"It was a lot of crazy s*** I got up to for a couple years," he revealed. "I was pretty self-destructive at one point. I used to smoke 30 [cigarettes] a day, used to f***ing drink non-stop.
"I've always been able to be on the f***ing edge - be on the line, but then pull myself back."
In his early auditions, the 23-year-old, who was born in High Wycombe, admits that he used to pretend to be American at his auditions: "It was kind of like learning how to pull. It was like, how do you go into a bar and point out the fittest girl and then just go, 'I'll have her by the end of the night?' I was at that age where that was kind of... I stopped when I met Sam."
